Reformation Potluck

“GIVE THANKS IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES, FOR THIS IS GOD’S WILL FOR YOU IN CHRIST JESUS”. 1 Thess 5:18

On behalf of Faith Lutheran Church, we would like to thank all Fellowships for taking part in our Reformation service this past Sunday, October 27. Peoples, languages and cultures from many parts of the world joined in the service: English, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Oromo, Hindi, Punjabi, Tagalog, Nuer, Tigrinya, Portuguese and German.

We joined in God’s Word, prayer, singing and confessing the foundations of the Christian Reformation, emphasized by Martin Luther: Scripture Alone, Grace Alone, Christ Alone and Faith alone – for the salvation of people.

After the service we all joined for a delicious and loving potluck lunch fellowship.

Faith Lutheran has four blessed opportunities each year when all affiliated nationalities and languages join in one ethnic multi-cultural and language service: Easter, Pentecost, Reformation and Christmas.

We would like to take the opportunity to encourage all members and visitors to keep with this tradition, inviting and welcoming family members, friends, neighbors, all people, from near and far to join us on each occasion.

Martin Luther wrote: “The church of Jesus Christ comes from all nations”. We are grateful to God for His mercy in reaching out to the entire world through His church in proclaiming His Gospel and confessing His name to all nations, so that all may know Him, come to the knowledge of the truth and be saved through faith in Jesus Christ.

As the Apostle Paul encourages us – we are grateful for each and all members of our congregation, especially for all Christ’s servant-volunteers who invested precious time and effort in setting up the sanctuary and fellowship hall for the celebration. Your active service to the Lord Jesus and His church is much appreciated. Its dimension is witness to the name and glory of Christ, the wellbeing of people and the expansion of His church in our communities and in the world.

By God’s grace Faith Lutheran and all Fellowships want to continue together – in worshipping, sharing and reaching in and out as one church, under one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. Eph 4:5-6
